WELCOME TO THE OFFICIAL WEBSITE

Vivek Chandra Bisht (AKA Viranjan) is an Indian contemporary artist, writer, visionary, and art mentor whose practice explores the intersection of spirituality, sacred architecture, cultural heritage, nature, and conceptual imagination. With a creative journey spanning over a decade, he has produced more than 700 original artworks, including paintings, drawings, sculptures, conceptual art, and installations, each reflecting a deep engagement with Indian philosophy and the unseen dimensions of human consciousness. His artistic vision is further defined by VeVism, an original art philosophy introduced in 2016 through his Vectors and Vibrations series, which investigates the relationship between geometry, energy, symbolism, and spiritual awareness. His commitment to art and culture began in 2009 with initiatives promoting Indian folk art, followed by his 2012 Reverse Migration Movement in Uttarakhand, where he advocated for preserving the region's heritage, rituals, architecture, spiritual stories and cultural identity through creative expression. In 2021, he established the Astitvam Foundation, dedicated to the preservation of art, culture, temples, and traditional knowledge, and was also recognized as a Padma Shri Award Nominee for his contributions to the arts. In 2022, he earned recognition as a Harvard World Record Holder, marking another milestone in his artistic journey. Through original creations, educational mentorship, and meaningful cultural initiatives, Viranjan continues to bridge tradition with contemporary artistic practice, inspiring collectors, emerging artists, and audiences worldwide while contributing to the global dialogue on Indian art, spirituality, and creative innovation.

BEYOND THE CANVAS

A journey of artistic achievements, global recognition, and creative initiatives inspiring communities through art.

Harvard World Record Holder (2022)

For individually creating one of the largest oilcolour wall paintings of the Himalayan Mountains. Completed in an extraordinary 35 hours, the monumental artwork measured 144 × 360 inches, demonstrating exceptional artistic endurance, technical precision, and creative vision. Inspired by the grandeur of the Himalayas, the work celebrated the region's natural beauty while showcasing the possibilities of large-scale contemporary painting. This achievement stands as a testament to dedication, perseverance, and a commitment to the artistic practice.

The Padma Shri Award Nominee (2021)

In recognition of creative contributions promoting the message of reverse migration in Uttarakhand. Over the past decade, mentored more than 10,000 students in fine arts and creative disciplines, while initiating VeVism—an artistic movement that unites intuitive expression with spiritual energy. Co-founded Astitvam Gallery to promote contemporary artistic practices and currently serves as President of Astitvam Foundation, supporting art, culture, education, and creative initiatives. Through this vision, artists and creators from diverse cultural backgrounds have been connected through the global promotion of VeVism and contemporary visionary art practices.

Establishment Of Astitvam Foundation For A Noble Cause (2021)

Since 2012, a journey rooted in compassion, determination, and a vision of creating a better society and a sustainable environment has evolved through meaningful creative, educational, and social initiatives. This commitment took formal shape in 2021 with the registration of ASTITVAM FOUNDATION, a Non-Governmental Organization dedicated to inspiring positive change through art, culture, education, and community engagement. The Foundation works across environmental conservation, creative education, cultural preservation, and community development while promoting traditional knowledge, artistic expression, and holistic universal values. Through workshops, awareness campaigns, cultural projects, and collaborative initiatives, it empowers individuals, nurtures creative thinking, and encourages sustainable living. Guided by the belief that creativity can become a catalyst for social transformation, Astitvam Foundation continues to build a more conscious, inclusive, creative, and harmonious future.

VeVism: An Original Art Form (2016)

The term VeVism is derived from the art series "Vectors and Vibrations," inspired by the concept of sacred energy travelling throughout the cosmos. In the name VeVism, "Ve" represents Vectors and "Vi" signifies Vibrations. Through VeVism, viewers experience ecstatic energy expressed through colour, line, form, digital illustrations, art installations, intuitive exhibitions, and the interconnected presence of living and non-living elements of the universe. Rooted in intuition, spirituality, and universal consciousness, VeVism encourages a deeper dialogue between the visible and the invisible, transforming artistic expression into a contemplative and immersive experience.

The Uttarakhand Reverse Migration Initiative (2012)

An art initiative launched through a series of paintings celebrating the culture, heritage, landscapes, architecture, and village life of Uttarakhand. The project was conceived to raise awareness about migration from the Himalayan region while inspiring people to reconnect with their roots, local communities, and traditional values. Through visual storytelling, the artworks highlighted the emotional bond between people and their homeland, encouraging sustainable development, cultural preservation, and the revival of life in the mountain villages.

Preservation of Traditional Arts (2009)

Contributed to the preservation and promotion of Indian folk and traditional arts through educational initiatives, structured training programs, workshops, and cultural projects. These efforts focused on documenting, practicing, and passing artistic knowledge to future generations while encouraging young artists to appreciate India's rich cultural heritage. Students were introduced to diverse Indian folk art forms through practical learning, demonstrations, and creative workshops. The initiative also fostered meaningful connections with traditional artisans and handicraft communities, promoting knowledge exchange, cultural appreciation, and the integration of indigenous artistic practices into contemporary creative education.
